Welcome to 2007, what are your "plans"

  • Mood:
  • What I'm Doing: at all the things I need to get done

Resolutions.  When you hear New Year, do you think Resolutions?  I used to, but I realized resolutions are usually negative things about myself that I want to change, so I decided this year, there will be no resolutions, but "Plans or Goals" to look forward to doing.  I am trying to be more happy and stay away from those negative thoughts.  I never keep resolutions for more than a few months anyways, but if I set goals, I usually do better!

Here goes the "list"

  • Take my dog for more walks (which in turn provides us both with exercise!)
  • Quit smoking with my fiance
  • Do more crafts instead of being lazy and watching TV all the time (though American Idol will be starting and I love that show!).  maybe I can craft and watch TV!
  • To begin planning the wedding, or at least the party!
  • Start talking with Josh about the plans for the wedding, party, and the other things (i.e. do we want to keep separate checking accounts? mailboxes? Insurance? etc...)
  • Do better at keeping track of finances
  • Enjoy life more
  • See my college friends (at least as many as I can since we are all kinda spread out and the price of gas doesn't seem to be dropping too much!)
  • Keep in touch with family and friends better than I have this year!
  • Tons more things, but these are the highlights!

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's celebration!  We stayed home and had a mellow evening.  We are such morning/day people that we celebrated with New York (3 hours ahead of us) at 9pm our time, had our bubbly and toasted, and the kiss, then went to bed by 10pm.  We tried, but starting our day at 6am and no naps, then drinking alcoholic beverages beginning at 4pm, we just couldn't hang!  Haa haa...we must be getting old! LOL!

I best be going so I can get some things taken care of around the house!  Hope the New Year brings all of you many wonderful blessings and happy times!

Guess What???? I am engaged....Josh asked me last night before going to my company Christmas Party.  Me, engaged, that is so crazy.  I still haven't gotten over it.  It took him 5 years to ask his ex-wife to marry him, so I didn't expect this at all...I am nervous but excited too.  I can't believe it.  Anyways, just thought I would let you know!  Will try to update more information later!  Just had to get it out!!!!

Monday, Monday...

Good Morning All,

Hope everyone had a good weekend.  Mine was all right.  I didn’t do a whole lot, but I did do some things.  I got my new countertop electric mixer so I had to try it and I made gingerbread cookies.  They came out really good.  This was the first time I had made them so it was an “experiment”.  I even decorated them to make them look like little gingerbread boys and girls.  It was so fun!  I also made this “Watergate Salad” it is so yummy.  My mom made it for Thanksgiving, it was so good, I got the recipe and made it too.  It’s kinda like a fruit salad.  I also made chicken taco/taquito things.  They are so good, you use a red sauce to drizzle/pour onto the top of them and then sprinkle cheese and guacamole and sour cream (if you so desire)…they rocked.  I brought some for lunch today.  I also did a little Christmas decorating around our house, worked on my cross-stitch ornaments and played pogo.com.  My boyfriend was on nights all weekend so I had to be quiet during the day while he was sleeping, hence I did most of the baking, decorating etc…at night while he was at work.  It was fun.

Other than that, not a whole lot is going on.  We ordered a new bed – mattress, boxspring and frame – and that should be delivered today, I am super psyched about that.  Also hopefully some of my Christmas Presents that I ordered should be here too.  I bought my Christmas tree permit last week, so on my boyfriends’ next days off we are gonna go cut us a tree, that’s always fun, cuz then we get to decorate it!  YEAH!

Found out my co-worker’s husband may need to get a heart transplant…that sucks, but they won’t know for 2 weeks what is going on because they are waiting to hear back from the lab results.  She is a nervous wreck today, rightfully so.  Poor girl, she’s had a really tough year.  Hopefully all works out.  They could use a little Christmas miracle this year.

Other than that, I have a pretty busy week ahead of me at work and home.  I have to finish my Christmas Cards and get them mailed out.  I also have my Christmas Party this Friday for work…that should be fun.   Plus other crap like paying bills and cleaning house…ewww. Well I better go so I will chat at ya’ll later.

Puppy Problems...Your Advice Wanted!

Good Afternoon All,

Hope your day has been a good one.  Mine hasn’t been too bad so far, but hey it’s still kinda early.  So yesterday was kind of exciting and not in a good way.  I had a relatively good day at work,  the weather sucked, it was cold, windy and snowy all day.  Anywho, I got off work and drove through Mc D’s to get some dinner for my boyfriend and I, not a problem, checked our mail, didn’t get any bills so that’s always good.  Well I get home, my boyfriend is sleeping (due to his just finishing his last night/graveyard shift for the week), so I am greeted by my puppy.  I go wake up my boyfriend and walk out into the living room and see the mess Angel had made.

No she didn’t poop or pee on our floor, she got into one of our plants and there was potting soil all over the floor.  I was pissed off…she had not only spread it out all over by the plant, but tracked it all over the house, mainly on our blue rug.  Okay, so that was irritating, I rubbed her nose in it said no, spanked her little butt and locked her outside for 15 minutes while I cleaned up the mess.  Keep in mind it was cold out there, I hope she learned her lesson.  Well that made me all pissy so I was pissy for a while, however I ate and had a smoke while we watched Robocop on TV.  I felt better.  Well later that night we had to go to a friend’s house to water his plants – since he’s outta town – and we come home and my little “Angel” had gotten my pack of cigarettes and chewed the box up and there were cigarettes all over…she had even gotten into the ashtray and had butts all on the floor.  She’s been in trouble for this many times before and she hadn’t done it for quite some time and then Ta-Da she did two bad things in one afternoon.  She got to go outside again and think about what she’s done.  I can’t understand why she was freakin out like this.  She got tons of attention all weekend and she even got to sleep in my bed with me Sunday night so it’s not like she hasn’t gotten any attention.  I can’t figure out why she’s pissed off and feels like destroying things.  I talked with my boyfriend this morning and she got in trouble again…she was chewing on our wood knick knack shelf thing and wouldn’t listen to him when he told her to get out.  Any advice from fellow pet owners?

I almost got another puppy yesterday too, but after coming home to potting soil all over my floor, I just lost momentum.  Help me figure this one out!

Other than that excitement I am just working my tail off (well not right now of course) at work.  I’ve gone from twiddling my thumbs to working my tail off…all in a day’s work.  I have another dilemma I’d like to get feedback on, but I will most likely save that for another day as I need to get back to work right now.   Take care and have a fabulous day everyone!  Sorry I’ve been a slacker on comments and updates, I have been reading all ya’lls blogs to keep up with you but I just haven’t had much time to leave any thoughtful comments so I haven’t left any.  Sorry!  I still love you!  I would appreciate any puppy advice as well…FYI – Angel is an 11-month old Chihuahua female.

Back to Work Again....

  • Mood:

Hey all,  hope those of you in the states had an awesome Thanksgiving (I know Canada already celebrated theirs)!  I know I had a good time, ate way to much but spent some quality time with friends and family.  On Wednesday we had a couple of my boyfriend’s friends over, it was nice.  I really enjoyed entertaining and cooking for them…I usually don’t like cooking that much! Haa haa!  Anyways, it was super fun.  The night before we (my boyfriend and me) baked some pies and made fudge…oh my gosh it was sooooo good!  I make a killer fudge, just thought I’d brag a little bit!  Anyways, so then on Thursday I went to my parents house and had Thanksgiving with them…more yummy food, only this time I didn’t have to clean up! Woo Hoo. Oh yeah, one thing, around 6am Thursday morning my boyfriend came in and woke me up, he’d made me breakfast in bed…that was super awesome!  I guess I’ll keep him around!  Anywho, so at my parents house we ate then watched the football game, what a disappointment…my Broncos sucked, they lost…grrrr.

Friday morning I did the Day after Thanksgiving Shopping (Like Shelly) and yeah, I got so frustrated it wasn’t even fun.  People were so rude, there were way too many of them and it made me not want to be there.  I usually like some shopping and thought it would be fun but then I go and it was so not fun I hated the time I was there.  I spent like 20 minutes in the checkout line for 5 items.  That was super duper fun!  Then I went to the Dollar store to look for Baby Shower plates, napkins, cups, etc…for a baby shower some of my coworkers and I are throwing for a gal here that is due in February.  It was the highlight of my morning.  Baby stuff is so fun!

Other than that I pretty much hung out with the parents until my dad had to go to work.  That night my mom and me had some rum-eggnogs and watched sappy chick flicks on the Hallmark Channel.  It was a good time.  Then Saturday I came home to find that my boyfriend had done absolutely nothing.  There were dishes from our Thursday morning breakfast in bed (that he told me not to worry about before I left Thursday, so I didn’t, and they were still on the counter when I came home Saturday…that irritated the f*&k out of me) and there were still 3 loads of laundry that needed to be done.  Granted he was working nights the whole time, but the dishes…that is my biggest pet peeve…he knows it too.  We have a dishwasher, all he had to do was empty the clean and load the dirty.  Grrr…stupid boy anyways, just when he does something so sweet and nice he does something else to totally irritate me.  However I was good and didn’t yell or fight I just corrected the problem.  Well so Saturday night I spent the time cleaning house and doing laundry while playing Pogo and getting my badges.

Sunday I didn’t really do a whole lot, mostly laid around with my dog and watched movies.  I did however start sewing some Christmas Ornaments so I guess I accomplished something!  Now it is Monday, work today, yuck and the weather is super cold with snow showers.  The wind is fiercely blowing too so the snow is like falling sideways.  At some points you can’t see very far and then it will clear for a while and the sun will come out slightly then blizzard like conditions raise their heads again!  It’s supposed to continue this way today and tomorrow so we shall see!  I will try to update again tomorrow.  All is well in my world, hope it is in yours too.  Stay warm if you can!

Yes I am Still Around and Kicking somewhere

  • Mood:

I have been so terrible at updating lately…I am sorry.  Now that this website is filtered out as not being able to use,  at work I just don’t seem to update much.  Plus nothing really exciting has been going on in my life.  It’s actually been pretty boring.   I mean the most excitement lately was this weekend when I baked 2 pumpkin cheesecakes and made a cranberry-apple Jell-o Mold thingy.  That is it.  Work has been ½ busy and ½ boring, but all in all, it’s been okay.  I will be going out of town for 3 possibly 4 days next week for work, and they all fall on my boyfriends’ days off…isn’t that nice!  Anyways, so I can’t believe it is Thanksgiving week all ready…that is so crazy.  Since Josh is off this Sunday thru Wednesday we are having out Turkey day together on Wednesday.  Then he goes on nights for the whole weekend.  That so sucks.  I am going to my parents house to spend the weekend with them, do the Turkey day thing, especially the Football game!!!  And maybe make Tamales too.

Should be fun.  We are inviting some friends over for our Wednesday thanksgiving celebration, if they want to come over.  We shall see.  Other than that not a lot of anything is going on, same old boring stuff in the same old boring town.  It’s sad I don’t even have any witty humor, funny jokes,  stories, or random thoughts to share with ya’ll.  Oh well I guess that goes to show just how boring I truly am!  Haa haa…I’ve probably used the word boring, bored, bore like 10 times at least in this entry.

Oh my brother and his friends made this music video for a film festival down in Las Vegas…it is so funny…it’s like these zombies start attacking while these college kids are making a video…haa haa.  If any of you want to see it I can email you the link to it.  Crazy kids….OHHHHHHHH yeah, I just remembered, I found out my brother got ENGAGED to his girlfriend of 7 years (FINALLY).  But funny how he didn’t tell anyone about it.  I happened across his girlfriends’ myspace profile and she had pics of her ring on there, no wonder they are broke…lol…it’s really pretty, a silver band with a heart shaped diamond on it….very nice.  I talked to him on the phone yesterday and asked when they were getting married (not mentioning anything about their being engaged, just casually brought it up in conversation) and he said “when we get done with school”.  He will be out this year and she should finish up next year.  Good boy I was thinking…get the schooling done first!  They are gonna do it that way for insurance reasons – totally understandable since I was once a college kid myself and having your parents insurance while your in school kicks ass!  Then you join the real world!  Oh well, anywho that is my story and now ya’ll know as much as I do!  I promise I will try to be a better updater so ya’ll don’t think I dropped off the face of the earth or something!

Much Hugins and Luvins to ya’ll!

What Can I Say...

Nothing too exciting going on in my life since my weird little radio experience.  Halloween was fun, we had like 25-30 kids stop by and they loved all the pumpkins.  We had a puking pumpkin (my handy work!!....muaahhh haaa haa) and one with a machete through his head (my boyfriend!) it was fun.  I totally lined the driveway with pumpkins, it looked really neat!  Anyways, so my boyfriends' kids were both dinosaurs, they looked so cute.  Hmmm...what else is going on?  Not a whole bunch actually, we've been cleaning and winterizing our house and it's been way warmer inside.  we don't have carpet so the house is kinda chilly, especially the floors, so we've tried to minimize our heat loss by plasticing the windows and weather stripping our new doors, and so far so good.  Today however was gorgeous, it was mid 70's and it's still nice out even though the sun has gone down.

THere are a few advantages to the cold I've discovered, bugs are gone, especially mormon crickets, ewwww....and it's a great excuse for staying indoors with a fire and a good book, under a nice fuzzy blanket.

Work has been busy and crazy lately, I have been tasked with these really big projects lately and I think I am doing well.  I am learning so much.  However, we have a couple new guys in the office and they are weird almost to the point of creepy.  Lately I've been trying to help them out with some things and they are just weird and slow.  It just goes to show that if you have a degree anyone can work for the government.  Anyway, this one guy freaked out a lady at work, she was showing him his house (government housing) and well he was talking to her and she went to the door and started to leave and he puts his hand on the door and holds it closed and says "I'm not finished yet"...okay, hows that for creepy!  Anyways I am trying to give them a chance and give them the benefit of the doubt but the moreI talk to them the stranger they become.  The one who kept the door closed told someone at work that the reason he walks to work is because he has things in his car that can't be on government property...okay so the only things that can't be on government property would mean weapons, explosives or alcohol...other than that, pretty much anything can be there.  So that's a little worrisome.  The other guy is like Napoleon Dynamite, his eyes are always half closed and he talks really slow.  He's way nicer and friendlier, but also a little strange.  Oh well I guess, it takes all kinds!

Nothing else too exciting goin on around here, and I have this major headache that won't go away so I am gonna head out now.  Talk to ya'll later!  Luv Ya!

OMG I am Totally Freaked Out....

  • Mood:

Okay, so today after work I was sitting at home (just about 15 minutes ago) and watching Ghost Hunters aka TAPS on the SciFi Channel and it was good...anyways, I am sitting on the couch watching this and playing with the dog when all of the sudden our radio/stereo turns on.  Okay, so at first I thought I must have been sitting on the remote or something, or the dog stepped on it.  Well no such luck...the remote for the stereo is on the other couch on the top of it, my dog and I were both on the other couch away from it and there was no way either of us could have bumped the couch or something to make a button on the remote get pushed.  The radio turned on all by itself, as if watching Ghost Hunters wasn't freaky enough, that happened, I still have goose bumps on my arms.  I totally had to write about it.  My boyfriend is at work so it definetly wasn't him.  CREEPY...  I just had to share with ya'll my little creepy experience!

Other than that though nothing too exciting is going on.  This weekend should be fun as we are going to carve pumpkins and have some friends' kids over to help out.  We may go out hill stompin a bit too, plus we are going to get my boyfriend's kids for one of the days to hang out with us so that will be cool.  Work has been pretty busy, I am starting to get larger more in-depth projects to work on so that is keeping me busy while I am there, and I am trying to leave work at work and not bring the problems home with me...it seems to be working okay for now.  Umm...went to a Scrapbooking party on Monday, it was fun, maybe I will get into scrapbooking, that would be a fun and expensive hobby but would help me put to use all my pictures.  We shall see.  That's pretty much the excitement in my life right now, so I will go and chat at ya'll later!

Much Luv!!!

I'm Here....

Okay, so I know it's been a bagillion days since I have written or anything, but I am here and doing well.  For those of you that don't know I had two of my wisdom teeth pulled out like October 2nd and since then I've been completely miserable and tired.  I got an infection and that sucked I couldn't open my mouth hardly at all, sleeping was very difficult, but now I am on antibiotics for a couple more days but am doing so much better.  I can eat almost normally again so that rules.  I am sorry this is so short, but I have tons of house work to do but I will get back on here more often I promise. Hope ya'll have a great weekend and week until I talk to you again.

4:56 AM

Blah...

Well it's Wednesday and it's 5am in the morning, I've been up since 4am, that so sucks.  I just couldn't sleep anymore.  I am so sorry for everyone's recent losses in family members, it is very sad times around here lately.  I feel really bad that my biggest problem is some minor mouth pain when others, my friends, are hurting in their hearts.  I wish there was something I could do or say to make it all better, but I can't so I will just leave it at that.

Fall is officially here in Northern Nevada.  Bird hunting season is beginning this weekend and the leaves are changing colors.  The weather is definetly cooler and Halloween decorations are popping up all over.  I even decorated my cubicle at work with spiderwebs and pumpkins.  I can tell the weather is changing just by my mood.  I am depressed more easily for no reason and at the same time I am excited and loving the change of colors.  The seasons, I don't know what it would be like without them...but I wouldn't mind living in a place along the equator either where the only season is warm and rainy.

Other news in Angels life:  My best friend is officially moved and is loving it in Oklahoma.  My other best friend is still with her boyfriend, excuse me fiance, that doused us with ketchup at "breakfast" one morning.  I am still here, with my dog and my boyfriend and wondering why every night, or everyother night we are sleeping in separate places, one of us in bed, the other on the couch.  Are we not sleep compatible?  Work is still kind of busy and I still am hoping that things get better and stay busy during the holiday season instead of slow and I am left with not much to do.  We've been replacing doors and working on the sun room on all my boyfriends' days off around here and our house is officially coming together but is still a construction zone.  I bought my dog a little halloween costume, yep I am one of those people...she's gonna be a little witch...I already tried it on her, she looks cute.  Poor dog...LOL!  Well that's all I have to say today...oh and I can't get to my blog at work anymore, they "banned" the site so that sucks, now when I am bored I won't be able to play on here anymore.  I may not update as often but I will try to keep up ya'll.  Have a great camel day.
